WiFi Dabba sells Internet Data in India at Rs 20 / GB at a Chai wallah near you

The use of Wi-Fi hotspots in the country is slowly becoming mainstream as we are seeing more and more hotspot installations by various telecom operators like Airtel, Jio, BSNL, etc. However, most of these hotspots are usually available in prime locations across the city like malls, airports, railway stations, etc. Then what about local areas where the internet connectivity is poor? Well, don’t worry, WiFi Dabba has got you covered here.
WiFi Dabba, a Bangalore-based company, appears to be solving a major issue by providing Wi-Fi Hotspots in local areas. The company is setting up Wi-Fi Dabbas across various tea stalls (chai wallahs) and bakeries to provide a hotspot for the users who come for a quick snack or cutting chai. The company sells Data vouchers starting from Rs. 2 for 100MB data. These vouchers are also available for Rs 10 (500MB), and Rs 20 (1GB) and each of these vouchers are valid for 24 hours.
WiFi Dabba kickstarted in October last year, and now the company claims that they have sold more than 1.5 TB of data to users via its hotspots. The way the company is working is that they are getting bandwidth from ISPs in the city and are partnering up with small shop owners like chai wallahs for selling the data to the customers. Rather than focusing on Cafe Coffee Day, the small tea stalls and bakeries seem to be doing the job for them. The company is installing custom hardware at these stores and is sharing the revenues with the retailers.
